A man and woman have appeared before the District Court in Cork charged in connection with organising prostitution and operating brothels in Cork city.
Announcing the Winner of the Ruhama Award in Journalism 2009
Ruhama today announced Eamon Dillon of the Sunday World as the winner of the Ruhama Award in Journalism 2009.
The Ruhama Award is presented to a journalist who has an article published during the year, which best encapsulates the challenges and issues facing women in prostitution, including women who have been trafficked into this country.

Ruhama Award in Journalism Extended until 30th November
The 'Ruhama Award in Journalism' recognizes journalists, whose published writing during 2009, contributed to an increased public awareness, knowledge and understanding of the abuse and exploitation inherent in the sex trade in Ireland.
The contest is open to journalists who write for newspapers, magazines, news services, or online publications, either on staff or in a freelance capacity. (Books are excluded from this award).
The closing date has been extended to the 30th November, 2009
