REACH Project for Women

2014-2017

The REACH project was a European Commission funded project that aimed to raise awareness of trafficking as a form of violence against women and girls and improve responses to this issue across Ireland.

The campaign aimed to reach out women who may be in a difficult situation in the sex trade in Ireland by way of support materials, advertisements and a freetext number they could contact to get support. This number is still in operation at Ruhama (REACH to 50100).

This project was run in Ireland in partnership with The Department of Justice and Equality, Ruhama, the HSE and An Garda Síochana. It was also extended to Northern Ireland, with the support of The Department of Justice, the PSNI and Women’s Aid Northern Ireland .

We also offer trainings, prompted by the REACH project, in helping professionals learn how to spot the signs of sex trafficking. Find out more here.
