Ruhama was set up in 1989 by a religious order, as thousands of Irish charities were. Decades later, we are run on a secular basis and have a non-religious mission and purpose. We operate as an independent, registered charity and a feminist violence against women organisation. We are not affiliated with any religious organisations and are not funded by religious organisations.
