We are always thinking of new ways to reach out to women who might need our support. Our mobile outreach van visits Dublin’s ‘red light’ areas 3-4 nights every week to provide practical and emotional support to women involved in street prostitution. As well as hot drinks, snacks and health and safety supplies, women receive emotional support and referrals to other services they may need.
We also work very closely with the HSE (Irish Health Service) and Women’s Health Service, which provides a dedicated sexual health service to women in prostitution. Ruhama holds regular outreach sessions in the Women’s Health Service clinic to let women know about the support we offer. Our outreach to the Dóchas women’s prison in Dublin also lets the women we meet there who have been affected by prostitution, know how we can support them. Talk to us for more.
